For the seventh year in a row, American Vintage partnered with the Hyères International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Fashion Accessories. On the programme: the announcement of the American Vintage Photography Award winner and other surprises to discover on site.
From 12 to 15 October 2023, American Vintage takes up its headquarters at the Villa Noailles for the 38th edition of the Hyères Festival. One of the ten finalists competing in the photography category will take home the American Vintage Photography Award, which the brand created in 2017 to support young talents. Each artist presented a one-of-a-kind print based on a selection of American Vintage pieces. These photos will be displayed during the entire duration of the festival at the Villa Noailles.
A multifaceted jury
Every year, the festival puts together a panel of professionals chosen to appoint the winner of the current edition. This year, the jury is presided over by Luis Alberto Rodriguez (photographer) and is composed of: Edward Buchanan (artistic director), Song Tae Chong (author and professor), Sarah Piegay Espenon (cofounder of the Loose Joints publishing house), Jordan Hancock (artistic director), Paul Mpagi Sepuya (photographer), Adam Murray (academic, curator and pathway leader of fashion communication and promotion at Central Saint Martins), Carlos Nazario (stylist), Francesco Risso (artistic director), and Kevin Tekinel and Charles Levai (founders and artistic directors of the Maybe agency), in addition to Rala Choi (photographer and winner of the Grand Prix of the Photography Jury in Hyères last year).
