What do you take with you when you travel?
A black suitcase that’s very organized—and often too heavy.

What three items do you never leave home without?
When I’m traveling with my family, I take small travel cubes—they’re a game changer!—clean underwear, and a little bag that holds three stones that protect me.

Do you put together outfits in advance or do you prefer to improvise?
I always improvise. I prefer it that way because I never know in advance what I’m going to feel like wearing.

What do you wear to the airport?
I like to wear comfortable sweatpants and a warm sweatshirt.

What are your favorite American Vintage pieces for travel?
For me, layering is key. Sweatpants, a T-shirt, a sweatshirt or knit sweater. But I must say that AMV’s denims are super comfortable and soft. They’re exactly the kind of piece I could wear on the plane. As for my daughter Billy, I always bring a lot of changes of clothes because you never know what can happen.

What is it like to travel with a child?
Everything changes when you become a parent, including how you travel. You learn to see the world through a child’s eyes. Everything takes a little longer, and that can sometimes be a bit stressful. You need to know how to be patient and tell yourself that sometimes taking time can also have its advantages.

Can you tell us a little about your trips?
We recently went to Hydra, an island in Greece. It’s a place that feels like it’s frozen in time. There are no cars—people get around on horses and donkeys. William and I had first visited three years earlier. At the time I was pregnant with Billy, and my friend Sophie van der Perre had organized a photo session. Three years later, we went back with our daughter. So you could say we’ve come full circle.
