Hi, Drew! What do you like most about New York life?
Sophia Loren once said: “When I’m walking down the street, I always feel that around the corner, there is something wonderful waiting for me.” That’s what I feel about New York, which is what I like calling “the magic of the unexpected.”

How would you describe your photography style?
For me, it’s like a creative mountain that I’m still climbing. It’s hard to describe, but when I take photos, I’m constantly in search of a certain essence. Like sparks of life, film scenes that give you goose pimples, make you laugh, inspire you.

What’s your favourite thing about photography?
At first, I wanted to pick up a camera to capture my daily life: what I do, when, how and with whom. It’s kind of like keeping a journal. I like to be able to keep memories.

What’s an average day like for you?
I get up fairly late and I always start by drinking coffee. Then, I organise my day around my appointments. Right now, my evenings are pretty full. I go to a store opening (or two), then I join a friend for dinner. If I have nothing planned, I cook at home before going out for a drink. My days usually end between midnight and 4 a.m.
