AMV’s favorite places in Barcelona

As one of Europe’s top tourist destinations, Barcelona has long charmed visitors from all over the world with its architecture, food and relaxed lifestyle. To celebrate the opening of our third boutique in the Catalan capital, we’ve put together a guide with our favourite places to eat, drink and sleep.

#1: Casa Bonay

This independent hotel in a restored 19th-century building is centrally located in the Eixample District and houses a rooftop, tapas restaurant, and cocktail bar.

#2: Fonda Pepa

For traditional Catalan dishes made with local and seasonal ingredients, grab a table at this small joint. The menu usually includes succulent paellas and croquetas.

#3: La Barceloneta  

While it may be packed with tourists in the summer, off-season the beach of La Barceloneta is reclaimed by locals, who come here for a morning jog, a picnic or lunch at one of the seaside restaurants.

#4: Granja M. Viader  

Breakfast or afternoon tea in Barcelona takes on the hearty form of churros with hot chocolate, and Granja M. Viader is one of the oldest establishments serving these delicious sweet treats.

#5: Sala Parés  

Founded in 1877, Sala Parés is the oldest art gallery in Spain and the first place in Barcelona to exhibit Picasso. Today it displays 35 contemporary artists across three spaces.

#6: Llibreria Finestres  

This large independent bookshop is a reader’s heaven, stocked with books in a wide variety of languages and furnished with plenty of comfy sofas. It also has a terrace and a café.
