On the 18th of June the new exhibition The Art of Banksy in de Beurs van Berlage has started.
Banksy is one of Britain’s most successful and mysterious contemporary artists. Banksy’s street art pops up all over the world with humour and is sometimes challenging as he places messages on walls and sprays images in public spaces. He is known for his anti-capitalism message and the mirror he delights in holding up to the human race.
The Art of Banksy consists of key artworks from original canvasses, paintings sculptures to interactive storytelling that indicates the artist’s colorful climb to fame. All pieces come from private collectors and the curator’s collection, Steve Lazarides. He brought together a sizeable collection which is being shown for the first time in Europe.
The pieces are displayed in installations that include a reconstructed London street, underground station, living rooms and even Banksy’s studio.
