The Pic du Cap Roux on the French Riviera

In Saint-Raphaël, in the middle of the Massif de l’Estérel mountain range, the best spot to feast your eyes on the French Riviera is at the top of the Pic du Cap Roux. Here, the playing field spans over 400 kilometres of trails with a 360° panorama of mountains and sea. So, pull on your shoes, fill up your water bottle and plan your ascent.

The Tour de l’Étang du Vaisseau in Camargue

Are you looking for an easy hike that you can do as a family? In the Camargue region, the Tour de l’Étang du Vaisseau is a must to discover the characteristic fauna and flora of the area. On this flat loop trail, you can walk all day and observe the marshes until sunset.

From the Vieux-Port of Biarritz to the Rocher de la Vierge

Slightly farther west, in Basque Country, you’ll have your pick of the trails. In under two hours, you can soak up the beauty of the coasts and swoon at the spectacular sight of the ocean. The walk ends on a bridge that takes you to the statue of the Virgin Mary, where you can catch your breath and admire the view.

The GR34: the Sentier des Douaniers in Brittany

According to some, the “Customs Officers’ Path” is the country’s favourite long-distance footpath (known as a “GR” for “Grande Randonnée” in French). This is hardly a surprise when you know that it stretches over 2,000 kilometres, snaking around the Brittany coastline, between Mont-Saint-Michel and the bridge of Saint-Nazaire. On this trail, you can contemplate the sea, learn a little history and, most importantly, recharge your batteries by getting your fill of fresh air.
