American Vintage has moved into Copenhagen Antonigade 7 1106 Copenhague, Hovedstaden. To mark the event we share our top tips for a long weekend in the city.

The city : Copenhagen is a small and lovely ccapital that despite its size has a lot to offer. The city center is small enough to experience by foot, while other parts of Copenhagen as Vesterbro, Nørrebro, Østerbro and Frederiksberg are better to visit on a bike.

The place to stay : Hotel SP34 is a hip, unique and cool boutique hotel in the heart of Copenhagen. Enjoy the beautiful rooms that come with organic REN products, the delicious organic breakfast in the restaurant and a free glass of wine every afternoon during the hotel’s Wine Hour from 5-6PM.

The way to get around : If you want to experience Copenhagen like the citizens, you should jump on one of the popular city bikes, which you can find all over town. For 25 DKK per hour you will have the possibility to experience everything Copenhagen has to offer. Even if you do not have much biking experience or sense of direction, the bikes are perfect as they are equipped with both GPS and motor to help you get around. If you are not into biking you can off course travel the city by bus, metro or train.

The place to eat : Copenhagen has many restaurants and food offers. To get a different food experience, that is also very popular among the Danish people, you should visit Copenhagen Street Food on Paper Island. Here you find a large selection of different specialties from all over the world – guaranteed something for everyone. You can also just go for a drink and experience the unique atmosphere.

The place to go out : On Vesterbro you will find the trendy Meatpacking District (Kødbyen) that is offering a wide variety of going-out-places. Here you will find everything from the casual chill out-bar where you can get a beer to the club where you can dance all night or the fancy cocktail bar where you can sip delicious cocktails for hours. Therefore, this is the place to go if you are up for a piece of authentic Copenhagen nightlife. You can also find very good places to eat in this area.

The place to be cultural : Take a day-trip to Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, which is just 40 minutes north of Copenhagen by train. In idyllic surroundings, you will find one of Denmark’s most interesting and cool museums. Check out the modern exhibitions, take a walk in the belonging park, and eat a lunch or drink a coffee in the café with a view of the sea.

The place to shoot photos for Instagram : Spend an afternoon being cultural, enjoying Danish architecture and chasing the perfect photo for Instagram. Two spots where you are guaranteed insta-worthy pictures are the Botanic Garden and Ny Carlsberg Glyptoteket. Here you get to see some of the most beautiful places in Copenhagen and you have the possibility to hunt the perfect picture in the stunning settings.
