From Luxembourg,  small enough to be visited by foot, the city has a lot to offer. It displays a captivating contrast between ancient and modern and the neighbourhoods are full of charm ! After a quick stop at our store on the 67 Grand Rue, Olivia from The Olivia’s way blog shares her best spots for a sweet escape in the capital …

The new hype neighbourhood : Bonnevoie

Located near the Luxembourg central train station, the overlooked neighbourhood is becoming the hipsters ’new place to be.The streets, with their colorful houses, are reminding me of the London neighbourhood of Notting Hill. The area is now filled with trendy restaurants and bars, and it’s a safe heaven for all organic lovers.

Perfect tea time: The Ready

My favorite place in Luxembourg ! I go there regularly to meet with friends, take a break or even work. I just love its arty atmosphere… You can have lunch, coffee, taste a freshly squeezed juice or even fall for one of their delicious homemade cakes.

A coffee shop: Knoppes

One of the very first place I discovered when moving to Luxembourg. Located in the heart of the city, it is always crowded ! THE perfect place for cappuccinos and lattes fans… You can also enjoy a pack-and-go salted bagel or purchase a meticulously selected coffee.

My week end brunch: Chez Brigitte

I love that place ! Recently opened, it’s the perfect spot for a family or friends brunch. The interior design is amazing, the staff is great and the mixed menu of french and Luxembourger cuisine is so tasteful . Big shout out for the viennoiseries ! Being french, I know my fair share about croissants and pains au chocolat !

A hotel : the Sofitel Grand Ducal

If I had to recommend one hotel in Luxembourg it would be it in a heartbeat ! Ideally located between the train station and the heart of the city, It’s as perfect for a business trip than it is for people just wandering around the city. The atmosphere is cosy and modern, and the top-floor bar is a must do to sip one of their delicious cocktails while admiring a breathtaking view of the city.

A museum: the Mudam

Or more precisely : the Modern Art Museum. Located in Kirchberg, the business district, but also one of the city’s most recent area, the Mudam fits in perfectly with its geometrical and refined architecture. Extra bonus : You can have coffee or brunch while enjoying the vue.

An authentic stroll: the Grund

It is one of the downtown neighbourhoods. There’s an elevator in the city center taking you there directly. Once you get there, you are immediately drowned into a totally different scene… It’s like being in the countryside ! Nice typical Luxembourger houses, a river, restaurants, bars, a charming hotel… You can even rent bikes for a stroll in the woods.

To party: Clausen

The best district to party !  Very close to the Grund, it’s also one of the oldest neighbourhoods of the city. Today it is renowned for its intense nightlife, the favourite spot for electro and house music fans.
