What does a festive wardrobe look like at American Vintage? We asked Camille Dorange, women’s stylist at AMV, for her thoughts.

At American Vintage, our Christmas silhouettes are the result of a tried-and-tested equation: festive pieces + comfortable cuts = a spontaneous wardrobe. “At AMV, the yuletide season is a period for sharing and spending time with your family. You know you’re going to spend the day eating, so you want to wear pieces that you feel at ease in,” points out Camille.

Two styles, one wish
This season, prints come in two key trends. On the one hand, there’s a Scottish countryside look. “Picture yourself in a mountain chalet or a countryside house. Everyone, big and small, is gathered around the fire. The prints are inspired by antique tapestries, but also kitchen earthenware. A prime example is AMY, which you find on a flowing dress or our essential GAMI,” explains Camille. As for the colours, they are mineral, echoing nature itself, in bark, green, navy blue and browns. All mixed with a jacquard designed by Camille at the American Vintage head office in Signes.
On the other hand, there’s a more childlike theme in modelling clay colours. “Here, the prints are much more playful. We whipped up little pomegranates, with ADÈLE, but also bananas, with POLLY. It’s offbeat and funny,” shares Camille. Pieces designed to be worn well beyond the 25th of December.
What’s Christmas Day like at AMV?
“We spend the day with our families, at the heart of nature. It’s a time for sharing. We come home from a Christmas market or a stroll in the forest. Then, around 6 p.m., we sit around the coffee table and start snacking. We get out a board game. It’s a relaxed atmosphere.”
