Partner of the festival for nine years now, American Vintage supports young talents with a dedicated prize. In 2025, the American Vintage Photography Award goes to Spanish photographer Gabriel Mrabi. The jury highlighted the filmography of his images, brought to life during a trip to four big cities.
“I try to convey the spirit of Buñuel in my photos: surrealism as a lifestyle, its symbols hidden in ordinary things and the constant tension between beauty and danger. Mexico gave me slivers of raw mysticism, Seville revealed its baroque shadows to me, and Paris offered its ambiguous elegance. More than simple locations, these places became characters in their own right, each one with its own history and contradictions.”

Next year, the artist will be in charge of producing an exclusive fashion series for the Marseille-based brand, which will be presented at the 2026 edition of the Hyères Festival. He will follow in the footsteps of Basile Pelletier, who showed his original series Un temps pour vivre this year.
