Style: 5 sounds that defined 90s fashion

Our new spring/summer 2021 collection has a definite 90s vibe. Here are 4 artists with iconic hits on our creation studio’s playlist. Jamiroquai, Daft Punk, Lil’ Kim… Melodies and videos that shaped the soundtrack and fashion of this unforgettable decade.

Jamiroquai – Virtual Insanity

A deep blue XL jumper, oversized trousers, ultra-simple sneakers and, of course, a crazy-big hat. That was all it took for Jamiroquai to capture the essence of the decade in his own cool way.

Lil’ Kim – Crush On You

Style icons Lil’ Kim and Aaliyah rock their personalities in full colour with matching head-to-toe looks in the “Crush On You” video. Red, yellow, green and blue burn their pop shades into our retinas forever.

Fugees – Killing Me Softly

Who can forget Lauryn Hill’s performance of this iconic cover at the 1996 MTV Movie Awards, accompanied by Roberta Flack, the original singer of this soul classic? We still dream of her head-to-toe pale pink skirt and crop top ensemble for this summer.

Daft Punk – Homework

This first studio album marked the stratospheric impact of the French duo with “Da Funk”, “Alive” and “Around the World”. Incognito T-shirts and embroidered satin bomber jackets became the regulation uniforms of club kids raised on electro. We miss them already.

Pulp – Common People

Between disenchanted lyrics and an analysis of social classes, Jarvis Cocker gets us dancing to his pop hit tinged with melancholy. Everyday clothes, a mix of vintage colours… This video has all the right ingredients to keep us moving to this catchy and nostalgic song.
